Artist from Norway educated from the Academy of Fine Art Bergen in Norway and Academy of Art Weisensee Berlin, Germany. His work domain is mainly within a modern and flexible language of painting, drawing and prints.The paintings language shifts from exhibition and space. Some of the topics highlighted are from international politics, narrative storytelling, architecture, particle physics, science fiction, to pure geometry and aesthetics. Henrik Placht has been exhibited in Spain, Germany, USA, Sweden, Finland, Iceland, Jordan, Palestine/Israel, North Korea and Norway. His early works were site specific and relational oriented. He is represented in National Museums and private and public collections in Norway, Sweden, Spain, China, Germany, USA, Jordan and Saudi Arabia. Henrik Placht lectures and is Guest Professor/tutor in several academies and universities in Europe, Middle East, Asia and USA. Placht is also a social entrepreneur and institution builder. One of his achievements were his initiative and work to established The International Academy of Art Palestine wich he initiated in 2002. He solely fundraised it with the Royal Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Norway. Henrik Placht has also assisted artists such as Yoko Ono. He also worked as art critic when he was a student and curated numerous exhibitions in Europe and USA.
